Two Crashes Cause Delays On I-83 In South Central PA

Traffic delays plagued Interstate 83 in York County after two crashes in the northbound lanes on Wednesday morning, Nov. 20.

The first crash occurred around 7:35 a.m., just 0.1 miles north of Exit 34 for Valley Green, according to PennDOT. Crews quickly cleared the scene, and all lanes reopened shortly after.

The second crash, involving multiple vehicles, happened near Exit 32 for Route 382/Newberrytown around 7:50 a.m., Newberry Township officials confirmed. The left lane was closed, causing significant backups for several miles.

By 9:30 a.m., traffic had eased, and all lanes were fully reopened, PennDOT reported.

Pennsylvania State Police is handling the investigations. It is unclear if there were any injuries.
